It’s a rite of passage and one that every child that’s gone caravanning should have fond memories of and that’s cooking Damper on a stick.
Just don’t forget to remind them that the charcoal is all part and parcel of the experience 🙂
Ingredients
1 cup self-raising flour
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp butter
1/2 – 1 cup milk
pinch of salt
Instructions
- Rub the butter through the flour with your fingertips until the mixture is all crumbly
- Stir in the salt, sugar and a little milk at a time until a nice dough forms
- Divide into two pieces and roll into a snake shape. Wind around a clean, dry stick
- Hold over the campfire to cook
